At front of house as well as our fully functioning radio broadcast studio (STUDIO ONE ) we have tables and chairs donated by Manningford Hall and a new kitchen area is being funded by O2 "Its Your Community".
This area will be used as a cafe, training room, meeting/ activity space, rehearsal / recording / broadcast studio,

This space will be available for hire to members for project work or events and open daily to members as a social space.

We now have  a separate Production Studio ( STUDIO TWO ) which will be available for members to hire out. We have sound engineer training available to help members produce quality audio/video packages.

When STUDIO ONE is busy STUDIO TWO will be used as a broadcast studio.

and theres more

we also have two more rooms
one of which we aim to set up an IT suite / News Room,
the second we are hoping to turn into "The Green Studio" ( STUDIO THREE ). This will be a solar powered production room and our first step towards our aim of becoming the UKs first Solar Powered Community Radio Station.

What is community radio ?

Community radio is community owned and controlled, giving access to voices in the community and encouraging diversity, creativity and participation.

Community radio is providing media and information communication technology access, training and employment and is an exciting source of social innovation and practical "joined up" outcomes. Combining social enterprise, creative content production and skills for the digital economy.

Community radio has a vital role in reaching out to communities at risk of exclusion and disadvantage.

Community radio works by enableing people to become media producers, to send as well as recieve, and , by working together, to reinforce knowledge , dialogue and cultural expression at neighbourhood and community level.

The freedom of expression underpins all other human right. It is the means by which other human rights are defended and extended. In the information Age the freedom of expression takes on additional importance, as the ability to send and recieve information, regardless of frontiers, comes increasingly to dominate our economic , social and cultural life.

A new grassroots agenda is emerging to articulate the right to communicate an agenda in which access to new media and communication technologies is seen as an essential part of public life and a democratic culture.
